Diane J. Horn, Esquire, is an attorney with over eight years of dynamic legal experience. Currently, Ms. Horn serves as Counsel for The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company, and is an integral part of Penn Mutual’s Special Investigation Unit. In addition to conducting internal investigations, Ms. Horn is also primarily responsible for responding to both state and federal regulatory inquiries on behalf of the enterprise and manages a large part of the company’s litigation docket. Ms. Horn specializes in consistent and reliable legal counsel, by providing competent, organized and strategic solutions to complex legal cases and issues, while mitigating business risks. She achieves efficient and positive results by focusing on key details while simultaneously seeing the overall big picture and widespread impact of any key decisions.
Ms. Horn dedicated the first seven years of her legal career committed to public service by proudly representing the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. In particular, Ms. Horn demonstrated her unwavering dedication to crime victims by becoming a vital member of the District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit and leading the fight against sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse and child exploitation.
During her tenure at the District Attorney’s Office, Ms. Horn gained invaluable litigation and trial experience. She is a strong proponent and prime example of passionate and zealous advocacy, and possesses the unique ability to tackle serious issues head on, while still maintaining empathy and compassion for individuals impacted by difficult legal decisions.
In the face of a continually evolving legal landscape, Ms. Horn strives to be known as being a passionate and reliable leader, and hopes to accomplish this by using her voice and engaging new voices to change the culture. In April of 2017, Ms. Horn presented at Eastern University for Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and in September of 2018, she presented on the topic of Human Trafficking at the Annual Emergency Nurses Association Conference held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Additionally, Ms. Horn participated in many local community outreach programs to spread sexual assault and domestic violence awareness and the various resources available to victims of these crimes. Although no longer working in public service, Ms. Horn maintains her dedication to this continuous effort and believes that an empowered community is one of the strongest forces to positively affect change and impact lives.
