$30,000 Goal

The Helping Hands program serves children who are homeless, those who live in foster care and those who live in poverty in Delaware County. At ECC we recognize that the lack of necessities like adequate food, clothing, winter coats, blankets etc may hamper a child’s ability to achieve to the best of their ability. We recognize that holidays provide an opportunity for us to remind these families that there is help from loving members in the community. If children are hungry, we feed them. We have donated meals for the entire family. We have had food drives for community pantries. We provide presents that include necessities of life, games, books and other activities to strengthen family bonds and provide moments of happiness during stressful times.

Today, 1 in 6 children in the US have experienced Food Insecurity. This translates to over 17% of all children living in food-insecure households that lack access to nutrition sometime during the year—households that don’t have enough nutritious food for every family member.
